Saturday Self Care: Skincare + Pedicure Tip

It’s Self-Care Saturday, and I honestly don’t have any certain skincare routine.
Usually, for my morning and evening routine, I just grab whatever face wash I feel like using and maybe I will follow it with a moisturizer if I remember. Self care can just be putting your favorite scented lotion, facial mask, face wash, moisturizer, or even just a lip balm. Any morning routine using a product you love is a good way to start the day or prep for makeup application. And also to wind down at the end of your day.

When I use a skin care product, these are the ones I like to reach for.

Favorite Face wash

AMBI Even and Clear Gentle Exfoliating Wash

I remember seeing an ad for this in 2009 and being sold right away. I bought it then and it helped with my hyperpigmentation and evened out my skin tone well. I’ve purchased it consistently ever since. It was taken off the market for a while. Or at least I figure it was because I couldn’t find it anywhere. Then one day I came across it and I bought it. It is a bit different than it used to be. For one the consistency is a lot thinner and more watery which I do not like. It is a bit too runny for me. But it is still a good and gentle cleanser for daily use.

Aveeno Clear Complexion Cream Cleanser

This Aveeno cleanser is another good one that evens out my skin tone and clears breakouts. It only takes a few uses to notice the difference. It’s also a product I’ve purchased consistently over the years. As you can see I should probably get a new one soon. I’ve been having to fold and contort the tube to get the last bit of the product out.

Cold Cream Moisturizer and a Pedicure Hack

Equate Dry Skin Facial Cream (Comparable to Ponds Dry Facial Cream)

When I follow up with a moisturizer I like to use the Equate Dry Skin Facial Cream. I have dry skin and this moisturizes very well and doesn’t take a lot of product to moisturize. It’s better to go light with the application and add as you go because it can get really greasy really fast. Some times I use it as an all over moisturizer. When I got the idea to try this out as an all over moisturizer, I put it on my feet and I discovered it is the best foot moisturizer I’ve ever used. My feet looked like I’d just used a foot file. It honestly works better than products I’ve tried that are marketed as pedicure creams. And if you do use a foot file before hand you get even better results once you add the moisturizer to finish off your pedicure.

These are just a few of my favorite ways to care for my skin.

Have your own mini spa day. Put on a face mask, paint your nails, and binge your favorite TV show. Saturday should be about caring for yourself.

Happy Saturday <3
