What if You Got to Rebuild Your Makeup Collection?……

Have you ever looked at your makeup collection and thought “How would I even begin to rebuild this if something ever happened and I lost it?” (Later….. I actually looked at this question and thought of how depressing it is worded. 😂 oops.) I think I should say “If you got the chance to rebuild your collection what are the first five products you would buy?”. Does that sound nicer? I hope so. 😅 Anyway, mine isn’t as large of a collection as some that I’ve seen. But that led me to wonder what the first five products I would buy would be. After I thought about it a while I came up with a list of the first five products I’d buy. I don’t think I’d purchase anything I’ve never tried. I’d just replace the tried and true. Here is my list…

1 Loreal True Match Lumi Foundation

I’ve worn this foundation for the past twelve years. Though I wore a different shade in the beginning and I’ve also tried other foundations its the one I’ve always come back to. I like the finish and the color fits me well in my opinion which is N6 Classic Tan if you were wondering :). And I have dry skin so I find it to be moisturizing enough for my skin type.

2 Mac Peaches Blush 🍑

Peaches is a natural blush that I think fits me well. It isn’t too red not too dark or too light. I wear it more than any other blush I own. So it would have to be one of the first products I’d replace if I had to.

3 Mac Hug Me

Hug Me is a flesh tone pink lipstick that wears like a nude on me. Its the lipstick I didn’t know I was looking for since I started wearing makeup. Its the one I wear the most and I think flatters me best out of all the ones that I own.

4 Wet n Wild H2O Brown Eyeliner in Dark Brown

Since I’ve discovered brown eyeliner it has taken the place that black used to hold. It defines the lash line without being harsh or obvious that I’m wearing eyeliner. I usually prefer subtle definition for everyday or “the everyday” eyeliner. I’d buy the Wet n Wild H2O eyeliner in Dark Brown.

5 La Colors Bronzer in Baked

I’ve always been drawn to bronzers and I like how they look on me if they are too dark or too red. I like a golden or “bronze-y” bronzer. I don’t usually gravitate towards matte bronzers for the most part. I’d probably just buy the La Colors Bronzer in Baked.

I think these products are what I use the most so I’d want to replace those first before anything else.

What are the first 5 Products You Would Buy? Would you stick to what you know and love or would you start anew and build your collection with new products? Let me know below. 🙂

First for me would be a concealer to combat my extreme dark circles. Since my top two concealers require very specific companion products in order to work, I’d probably pick up my old school favorite Tarte Shape Tape that worked with pretty much any face powder.
I have super dry lips, so I’d need something that nourishes and looks nice with a full face of makeup at the same time. My holy grail is Ami Cole, but the business closed, so I might pick up one of the Too Faced Pillow balms instead.
Since Dior discontinued my holy grail Powder no Powder (and I don’t have my backups in this scenario), I’d probably stick with the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish powder. My eyes are what I try to feature the most when wearing makeup, so I’d probably stick with my favorite Essence Volume Stylist 18H Lash extension Mascara, but I can’t get that one in Germany for some reason, so I might have to choose something different like the KVD Full Sleeve Mascara. And then last, I’d want at least blush to add some color to my face. Many of my favorites were limited edition or are discontinued, so perhaps the BareMinerals Blonzer so I could have a sort of blush, bronzer, and enough shine to skip needing a highlighter in one.

I never thought about the discontinued stuff you can’t replace. But great list. I’ve never tried any of those products but they sound like good ones!

I’ve sort of thought of this before but I would be pretty sad if I had to start over . These past 4 years I’ve been collecting palettes , and replacing some of the colorful ones that were discontinued would be such a drag . But I will say if I’m starting over with 5 items tops :
I would rebuy The Juvia’s Plave Wahala again , I use so many of the shimmers , there’s a really good cool toned grey/taupe that I use as a neutral , the black for smoked looks , and the blues and purples get a lot of wear from me .
Second in the foundation would be the beauty blender skin tint in neutral 4 , I really like skin tints , it’s a little less heavy on my face too .
Concealer wise , I love the anastasia beverly hills magic wand but if I had to go budget I would grab the revlon concealer with coffee extract . I just loved it and it’s pretty good on a budget .
Would definitely need my Nyx Marshmallow primer
And then finally I would need a good liner a I love wings . So probably Nyx Epic liner .
I know I would add more items but if I’m keeping it to basics that would be my started pack

Love your list. And It would be very sad to start over. Maybe if I’d worded it differently it would be less sad. LOL oops.
