Since I’ve been on my setting powder kick I’ve purchased the Wet n Wild Photo Focus Loose setting powder. I’ve used it a few times since I got it and I like it. It sets my foundation to a natural skin like finish. I got the color translucent which can look scary if you are of a deeper complexion. But it blends perfectly and doesn’t make you look like you got into a fight with a bag of powdered donuts. It reminds me a lot of a sample of the Kat Von D loose setting powder I used to have which I loved. I think the Kat Von D loose setting powder is now discontinued. But it is very comparable to it.

And here’s the inside. Its your standard loose powder container. It can get pretty messy so I usually don’t keep it in a makeup bag where it can get tossed around.
How I Apply It
I put concealer where I need it first. Then on top of the concealer I add foundation. Then I take a little bit from what’s come up as shown in the photo and blend it over my foundation. You can also just put a tiny bit into the cap from there and use that. You don’t need a lot to have enough of it to set your foundation. I think it helps any powder products I apply afterwards , like bronzer, blush, and highlighter, to blend beautifully too.
It does what it claims to do which is set, mattify, absorb oil, creates a soft focus affect, and blurs the look of imperfections. The Wet n Wild site says it comes in Translucent- recommended for fair to medium and tan skin tones, Banana – recommended for all skin tones, and Deep – recommended for medium – deep skin tones. Where I purchased it the only color available was the color Translucent and I have a deep skin tone and like I said above I think it works just fine. And didn’t leave a powdery white finish that I noticed.
I give it a 5/5. If you’re looking for a loose powder this one is a good choice. It’s inexpensive and comes with a lot of product. And I think it performs just as well as any high end powder.
