Recreate Meghan Markle’s Makeup: Tips, Products, and Alternatives 👑💄

During the summer of 2024, I came across a video of Meghan’s makeup look. I don’t remember which one it was. But that kicked off a hunt for products that are similar. I read articles that talked about her favorite products which slightly varied from article to article. But they all stuck to mainly the same products or those in similar color families. She wears colors that I tend to gravitate to myself. Her classic look is a bronze smolder-y eye with a luminous blush and neutral lips. She usually wears a natural no make up makeup look. I like that all of her products in combination create a lit from within healthy glow. That’s always been my goal with makeup. It also has a sweet or flirty element to it which I like. I wanted to find a way to recreate the look with the best closest results without buying every product. I think the products I have below capture the feel of the look without having all products be the exact same. I only used one product that’s the exact one she uses (Mac Teddy) and alternatives that work just as well.

My Personal Look Recreation and Recommendations

After seeing all the look recreations and reading the articles about her makeup products, I decided to recreate the look for myself. A couple of the exact products she is said to use I purchased and some I got that look close when hunting for inexpensive alternatives. My first post on this blog, Battle of the Blushes Nars Orgasm vs Wet n Wild Pearlescent Pink , was a review on two blushes I purchased as a result of this makeup look recreation product hunt. Pearlescent Pink is close to the current version of Nars Orgasm. It’s a good purchase if the color is flattering on you and want to save money. But the Pearlescent Pink is not quite what I was looking for so the search continued. After trial and error I’ve come across a few that were exactly what I was looking for. And they worked even better for me than both Nars and Wet n Wild blushes and were cheaper. I have darker skin than her so I also needed to recreate this look for a brown skin tone. For this reason it had to be tweaked a little bit. But the essence of the look is still there.

Step 1: Foundation

First, I use any foundation that I feel like wearing at the time. It can be any foundation and will of course vary according to skin tone. In the photo below I used Revlon Illuminance Foundation in the shade 501 Toasted Caramel.

Step 2: Blush

I have a few cheaper alternatives to Nars Orgasm. They are also more than half the price of Nars and are more pink in color. For this recreation I used Milani Dolce Pink

Milani Dolce Pink $9-$10

Dolce Pink is closest to the original Nars Orgasm color. It leaves a nice pearlized glowy golden pink color on the cheeks. It’s subtle in color on me so it was a difficult to capture in the photo.

Other Close Blush Options

e.l.f. Monochromatic Multi Stick Sparkling Rose $6

This one also has a pearlized pink color that creates a glow on the cheeks.

La Lolors Lip and Cheek Stick in Sweet Lips $3

I have this listed under blushes because I prefer it as a blush rather than a lipstick. And it is the perfect color for this look. It is a spot on replica of Meghan’s blush look and I got mine for $2 at a Family Dollar.

Step 3 : Eyeliner

I purchased the Mac Eyeliner in Teddy which I do wear at times. But my own skin tone is very close to the shade so it doesn’t show up well. So I wear that sometimes layered over black eyeliner to get the smokey look. My black pencil liner of choice is Wet n Wild Baby Got Black.

The same effect can also be created with a bronze or even a copper or taupe eyeshadow or liner. Sometimes I just go with Wet n Wild Simma Brown Now Kohl liner because its dark enough to show up for a smokey bronze eye. It isn’t shimmery like Mac Teddy. But it has a good amount of depth to get close to the look without using two eyeliners.

For this look recreation I lined my eyes first with Wet n Wild Color Icon Kohl Eyeliner in Baby’s Got Black. I used just enough for a dark base to darken the teddy eyeliner a little bit more.

Wet n Wild Baby’s Got Black $0.99

Next, I layered the Mac Teddy liner over the black.

Mac Eye Kohl Teddy $24

Step 4: Mascara

Maybelline Lash Sensational $11 Pink(Washable)….Black( Waterproof)

I do own the Lash Sensational Mascaras in both the waterproof and water soluble formulas. I bought them because it was part of her look. I had never tried it out before and I discovered that I like it. Both mascaras fans out my eyelashes well. And they also have plastic bristled brushes on both which are the best kinds of brushes in my opinion. While these mascaras are good and inexpensive, any mascara will do just as good as the emphasis of her look isn’t on her eyelashes.

In the photo above I used the water soluble formula in the Pink tube.

Step 5: Lipstick

For lipstick, I don’t own Charlotte Tilbury one that she uses. So I used Mac Hug Me which is a flesh-tone neutral pink lipstick that I think captures the look well.

Mac Hug Me $27

Her lips are usually a neutral pink/coral color. And either this lipstick recreates that look perfectly.

Other Lip Recommendations

Colourpop Lippie Stix Parker $8

Mac Velvet Teddy $25

I tried to create the look with the least amount of steps as possible and I think I got it pretty close. The colors are very subtle anddd it looks like I’m not wearing anything. But it works because her look is subtle and slightly glow-y and illuminated. It is a natural look that enhances rather than hides it which is always my goal with makeup.
