I recently purchased two e.l.f. eyeliners that I have been wanting to try for a little while now. They sell for $4 dollars on the e.l.f. website. And they come in twelve colors which are Smoke Signal (Black), Cloud 9(White), Brownie Points(True Brown), Smoke Signal (Charcoal Grey), Vintage Denim(Navy Blue), Rare Emerald(Dark Green), Sky High(Light Blue), Limelight(Bright yellow-green), Berry Necessary(Brown Berry), French Roast(Dark Brown), Beige Flag(Beige), Plum and Go(Plum). I got the two brown shades, Brownie Points and French Roast, as they were the ones I was the most curious about trying.

My First Impression and Review

Pros
- Price
- Goes on smoothly
- Easily creates smudged eyeliner look I’ve always liked.
- Comes in a variety of colors.
Cons
- Because it glides on very easily and is easy to smudge, it comes off easily
- Takes a lot of swiping to build up the color(I can’t speak for the rest of the colors but for the browns this is the case.)

Honestly, the browns are not richly pigmented on my actual eyes. they have to be build up quite a bit. The application is smooth but one or two strokes of it on my eyelid does not build up to the intensity shown in the swatches. Brownie Points can’t be seen at all. But French Roast looks acceptable. It reminds me of a dark eyeliner smudged on the lash line with just a few swipes. It is a soft pencil and goes on very smoothly. I think the quality matches the price. They are a good price and apply smoothly. But you get what you pay for with pigmentation as it takes several swipes for the color to show up. I don’t hate them because they have a few good qualities. But I can’t say I’d repurchase.
I give these a 3/5 ⭐⭐⭐.
