Shop My Stash: Latte & Coffee Makeup

Shopping your own stash is one of the little things in life that brings happiness for makeup lovers….. Or its one of the “Latte” things in life that brings happiness and saves you from more unnecessary spending. Latte and Coffee makeup is the thing now. Is it still the thing? Or am I “latte”…to the trend like I am with all other trends? Lol These are some makeup products that I like a “latte”…😂….Okay, I’ll stop now. I had to throw a couple of lame dad jokes in there for good measure.  I probably am a bit behind the times. Okay, I’m a lot behind the trend because Latte makeup might be old news now. I never thought I’d hop on the train of a trend. But here I am. Latte makeup looks good in any season. It is nice glow-y and brown for spring summer. And it’s neutral brown tones fit equally well into fall and winter. And in the fall and winter seasons the look can be darkened a bit to fit the season

I’ve always liked latte makeup. And those are the colors that I gravitated to and sought out in makeup for a long time. Recently, I started to wonder what I could find in my own collection that fit the latte trend. I thought I had to have some latte-like makeup mixed in there somewhere and so I decided to shop my stash one morning and I got some good finds. Some of which I forgot I had. And I put them aside to look through and I picked out some shadows, blushes and bronzers, and lip liners, glosses, and lipsticks. Most of these lipsticks I’ve collected when trying to find nude lipsticks before I had a decent understanding of color theory. And think they’re perfect products that can be used individually or mixed and matched together for the perfect Latte Makeup “look”.

Blush & Bronzers

These products can be used as what they are which are bronzers. And they can also be used as eyeshadows for a latte eye.

Mac Coppertone
Le Mercerie Sunlight Bronzer
La Colors Baked

Mac Coppertone A while back I wrote about Mac Blush Coppertone. I just could not get any color out of it no matter how much I rubbed the brush across the surface. So when I was going through my makeup again I came across it and tossed it aside remembering how awful it was. But a few days later I thought about it again and thought I might try to see how I could make it work for me. I scratched my fingernail across a part of the powder and it loosened up the powder and I swatched what I picked up onto my hand and I could see it! So I took my brush and pressed it into the pan where I scratched some of the product and it actually picked up some product. I’ve found a solution for the wayward blush. All I have to do is destroy it every time. Just give it a good scratch and its good to go. LOL It is not ideal I did not like the idea of having to ruin the product and scratch the powder’s surface as I like to keep things in the best condition or use them “correctly.” But at least I get to use it now. Plus what creative’s tools remain neat right? Let’s just hope the blush continues to cooperate.

Anyway, Mac Coppertone is the perfect color for a latte glow. It is a warm copper brown that is reminiscent of cinnamon coffee. Or cinnamon powder that you’d sprinkle over coffee foam.

Le Mercerie Sunlight Bronzer This is a cheap one dollar bronzer I bought at Dollar Tree. It is a nice copper bronzer that applies smoothly and blends in evenly. Doesn’t the swatch of that one remind you of cinnamon too? To me, its perfect for a latte look and gives just enough bronzing and dimension to my face.

La Colors Baked This is another bronzer I got at Dollar Tree. This is one is a very pretty gold powder that also goes on smoothly and blends out evenly. The color payoff is excellent for the price.

Covergirl Soft Sable. It is a warm brown coppery shade that kind of wears like a highlighter on me. I also heard its a dupe for Sunbasque. On a deeper complexion like mine, you can’t see much of the brown. It looks more like a warm highlighter. But from what I’ve found it looks like more of a medium copper tone on lighter skin.

Eyes 🤩

Mac Cork
Sephora Sweet Brownie
Mac Mulch
Mac Saddle
Eyeshadow pans.

For eyeshadow, I think a single shadow on the lid and blended into the crease works well enough without going overboard with color.

Mac Cork is a medium neutral brown that is good as a transition or crease color and also works as a single shadow on the eyelid. Put on a brown eyeliner and mascara and you’ve got a simple latte eye.

Sephora Sweet Brownie is also a good crease color and is clearly alot darker of a brown so it can be good to use along the lash line in place of a traditional eyeliner while keeping the latte theme.

Mac Mulch is perfect for that kind of look and application. It is a warm brown satin eyeshadow that blends out beautifully. It kind of gives a bit of a mocha latte vibe.

Mac Saddle is a beautiful warm brown eyeshadow that reminds me of a caramel latte.

Lips 👄💄

Lip Liners

Mac Lip Liner Chestnut is a classic with women of color. It is a rich deep brown

Mac Chestnut and Nyx Brown lipliners swatched on brown skin.

Nyx Lip Liner Brown is a more medium brown lip liner that is less harsh than chestnut.

Lipstick

Revlon Mink
Mac Double Shot
Mac Creme in Your Coffee
Maybelline Crazy for Coffee
Lipstick tubes.

Revlon Mink This is a lipstick that is a favorite amongst deep skinned makeup lovers. I’ve seen it recommended again and again over the years. And it lives up to its reputation. It is the perfect medium toned brown for a latte lip.

Mac Double Shot It’s a medium brown lipstick shade. The name itself immediately makes me think of a double shot of espresso every time I read it. And its is a color that is less brown than Mink and leans more pink but to me it is still a nice color that is coffee like.

Mac Creme in Your Coffee This one leans a bit pink on some skin tones but I still think its perfect for a latte lip. It has just enough brown to have that milky coffee tone. Pair it with a brown liner and it will be even more so.

Maybelline Crazy for Coffee The name speaks for itself. This is also a medium brown lipstick that is kind of more red in my opinion than the other three. But still clearly coffee toned as you can see in the photo below.

For A deeper coffee lipstick option I’ve got 🥁…..

………………………………………..Revlon Iced Mocha 🎉

Revlon Iced Mocha lipstick.

This one is a bit on the darker side as the picture shows. I’ve worn it a few a few times and I can honestly say it is not my favorite. But it looks good mixed with a lighter shade or sheered out. And I think wearers with a deeper skin tone than me may appreciate the color. Or if you’re just someone who appreciates deep lip colors you will like it. It is the perfect ” coffee without cream” lipstick. 😉

Gloss

Nyx Praline
e.l.f. Love Bite
Lip gloss tubes.

e.l.f. Honey Talks This is one I just purchased. You can’t see the color very well against my skin tone. It wears very neutral on me too. But it is the perfect latte color if you prefer a gloss over a lipstick.

Nyx Praline Also a good gloss for a latte look it has a little more color than Honey talks. It is more brown as you can tell by the photo. It give a little bit more of the coffee shade to the lips.

e.l.f. Love Bite This one has gold shimmers in it unlike the other two. The golden glitters add extra dimension to the brown coffee color.

Vanilla latte gloss options…. 🍦

La Colors Heavenly
Nyx Madeline
La Colors Glossy Lips Peachy Keen gloss tubes picture.

La Colors Holographic Iridescent Heavenly is a light tan lipgloss with gold glitters throughout it.

Nyx Madeleine is also a tan gloss that is plain with no glitters at all. Just a classic nude gloss.

La Colors Peachy Keen is more sheer and reminds me of a sheerer version of heavenly. It is the same tan color with gold glitters throughout.

La Colors Nyx Madeleine and La Colors Lip glosses swatched on brown skin.

Pair these lovely lighter brown glosses with a brown lip liner like the ones above for more dimension or wear them alone. A brown lip liner can also make the color more wearable if you want to wear this color but you find that its a bit too light.

And that sums up what I found that I think are good products for a latte look.

What’s your idea of a perfect latte shade — caramel? mocha? vanilla? Let me know below. 🙂
