The best lip exfoliator is not a cosmetic product from a drugstore. Nor do you need any ingredients to make one any special sort of way. In fact, if you’re into DIY look no further than your bathroom cabinet.

Yep, you read that right. I’m talking about a washcloth.

A washcloth is the best lip exfoliator in my humble opinion. I’ve tried a few other methods of exfoliating and none work as well as a washcloth. I remember reading the makeup section of some teen magazine that recommended exfoliating with a tooth brush. I tried it and discovered that it didn’t work very well for me. So somehow I got the idea to try a wash cloth and it worked perfectly. I haven’t purchased any lip exfoliators since.

This method works even better than an exfoliator. Just dampen a wash cloth and scrub your lips gently like you would with any lip scrub. Then follow up with your favorite lip balm or moisturizing product. I wrote about my favorite lip balms here.
