How often do you shop for makeup? I go through these phases where I buy often, then not at all. In the past, my makeup shopping binges were purely experimentation based. I had the hardest time finding colors that fit me well. Everything looked off with my coloring so I went through a lot of buying and returning. Now I’ve discovered what colors and finishes look best on me. Andddd the compulsive buying phases are for a completely different reason. I’m still buying for experimentation purposes. But now its to test colors in the same color family. Now that I have a clearer direction to go when shopping that’s only given me a good excuse to continue to shop. So I reached a peak with finding my shades and finishes and then I was back downhill. This year is an “I can’t stop” phase so far. I’ve bought a few items every month since January.

And I need to be stopped. LOL I’m not particular about makeup being high end. I’ll buy cheap stuff just for fun. And if I really want to try something higher end I’ll buy the mini size of the product if there is one available. And I think its worth it because you still get a lot of use out of them.
Here’s what’s on my Wishlist right now just in case you’re curious. Or….. If you’re just as obsessed as I am maybe you will be able to relate.
Sephora Micro Smooth Powder $20.00
Why: I’ve been into setting my foundation with powders lately and I’ve read the reviews on Sephora and people seem to like it. It looks like it may be comparable to Mac Mineralize Skin Finish which I just purchased and I’d like to compare them.
Shade: (65 Toffee) I think this one would be good for adding warmth. I was inspired by makeup tutorials where it is used as a bronzer.
Sephora Collection Colorful Eyeshadow $8.00
Why: I own two eyeshadows from the Sephora Collection and I like those. And I came across two that I think would fit me well. These are in expensive but still on my To-buy list . I’ve not gotten around to buying them yet.
Shades: (Shock Chock and Coffee Break) I like chocolate-y bronze-y shades and in the review swatches these looked like they checked both of those boxes.
NARS Bronzer $42.00
Why: I’ve heard about the NARS Bronzers for years on YouTube and I’ve read about them on makeup blogs. I’ve always liked that they don’t seem to have a lot of red in them which is what I prefer in a bronzer. And its been so talked up that I think I have to give it a try one day to put it to the test for myself. It seems like they’ve dropped all their shades except Laguna and re-vamped it so that it comes in multiple shades. I think I would’ve like Punta Cana but it seems its discontinued and all that is left is this line of Laguna clones.
Shades: I’m leaning towards (Laguna 4 or 6). I prefer a bronzer with less red and more bronze and brown warmth.
Mac Eyeshadows $25.00
Why: I own a few Mac eyeshadow shades already and I like them. They are on the expensive end so I’ve had a list going for several years now. And the colors listed below are just the next ones on the list.
Shade: (Texture, Wedge, Sable) These I really like natural brown and bronze eyeshadow shades. They are the types of shades I’ve been drawn to ever since I took an interest in makeup.
Fenty Sun Stalker Bronzer – $36.00
Why: I appreciate the entire line of Fenty products. I love how there is such diversity in the shade ranges. It’s more diverse than any makeup brand I’ve ever come across. I’ve owned one of the Fenty Sun Stalker Bronzers before that I liked I just didn’t like the color on me. It was a bit too red for my taste. I guess by now you can tell that I don’t like red bronzers! LOL
Shade: (Coco Naughty) It seems like the perfect shade of bronze that is not too cool and not too warm or red. And it still looks dark enough to show up on me as a bronzer.
NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Full Coverage Foundation $54.00
Why: I was looking for a foundation that comes in more shades so that I can find one close to my skin tone that covers well. And I have also just never used a high end foundation before and I wanted to try one. But I’ll admit the price tag is holding me back very well.
Shade: (Macao or Caracas) It seems like one of these are the closest to my shade. And the Sephora Foundation Shade Finder suggested these to me.
A New Brush Set
I’m not sure which ones I want yet. I’ve been looking for a set of good quality brushes. The ones I have now are good I’ve had some of them for 10+ years most of which are e.l.f. and the Dollar Store Brand I forgot maybe Broadway or Select Studios? Anyway, they are still holding up fine. I’ve just had the itch to try something of a better “quality” or more high end. If you are reading this and have recommendations let me know in the comments.
This wish list is so long some of them will end up remaining wishes. Or I just might have to save some for Santa.

If he wants to send some of them my way now he can. I hope he is at work at the North Pole and not on vacation. If so I’ll have to wait until December. 😀

.
So….how often do you buy makeup? What’s on your wishlist right now? Do you go all-in or take long breaks like I do? Tell me I’m not the only one. 😅And if you have tried anything in this list and you like it please let me know. I love a good recommendation.
Thanks for reading!
