Sometimes I carry a makeup bag that functions more like a “just in case” bag. I honestly haven’t carried it in a long time as it just takes up more space in my overly stuffed purse. I usually put makeup on before I leave home. But there have been mornings when I didn’t have time to put on makeup. And it’s convenient to have a small bag of basics that allow me to carry useful products while reducing bulk. I like things that can be blended with the fingers or to have items that only require me to carry one or two brushes. All I will usually have is a concealer brush and a blush brush, if that. And it doesn’t matter what brand the products are or how expensive. I just like to have the following items….

EYELINER

I like to have a black eyeliner and a brown eyeliner. Whether I feel like have a softer eye or one that is more defined I have both options. I always have both a liquid liner and a pencil liner in each color. The liquid liner works better on the upper lash line and the pencil works better for the lower.

EYE SHADOW

Any eyeshadow stick even a cheap one is good to have if you want something to add to the eye besides liner. I prefer to carry a bronze or taupe colored shadow stick. These colors add something to my eyes that looks more natural or neutral on me.

MASCARA

Like the eyeliner, I like to carry a black mascara and a brown black mascara for the exact same reason. I have a bolder option and a softer option.

LIP PRODUCTS

One of the lip products I like to keep is a clear gloss. You can’t go wrong with clear gloss because its simple. I also have a chapstick which can add a bit of a sheen to your lips too and also are just good used for its purpose. And sometimes I might add my lipstick of choice for that day if I put makeup on before I left home.

FACE

I like to carry a concealer in the color of my skin instead of a whole bottle of foundation. It’s very easy to just put in on and blend it out with the rest of my skin and I look covered without having had to bring a bottle of foundation.

I also carry a cream blush because it is easy to put on and you can spread it on with your fingers if you don’t have a brush with you. And another good thing about cream blush is that it its a two in one product that can be doubled as a lip stain.
