My Favorite Drugstore Mascaras

Every once in a while I like to try a different mascara when I have one that is time to get rid of one just to experiment. When I started wearing makeup I just wanted to create the appearance of longer eyelashes so I only ever bought lengthening mascaras. Then I tried volume mascaras and found that I liked those just as much. After all of my experimenting, there are a few mascaras that some lengthening some volumizing that I keep purchasing.

Loreal Telescopic Mascara (Gold Tube)

I like this one because of the tiny brush and bristles. It lengthens separates the lashes very well especially if you have short or thin eyelashes. And buying the carbon black version makes them even more bold. However the carbon black works just the same as the original in my experience one is just darker. But is mainly a lengthening mascara and it really does what it claims to do.

Covergirl Lash Blast Volume (Orange Tube)

My go to mascara for a while was the purple Covergirl lash blast fusion mascara. I remember buying my first tube of it the summer before 12th grade. I like it a lot and used it faithfully for a good couple of years. To be honest, I don’t remember it making a huge difference in the length. But I like that the wand had tiny bristles on it that coated every lash. I’ve even tried the green tube too. Which I did like and it was more elongating than the purple one. Weirdly I even liked the smell of these Mascaras. And every time I smell any of the Covergirl lash blasts, it takes me right back to that summer. Anyway, I would see the orange tube of Covergirl lash blast being used more than any other lash blast mascaras. And since I didn’t care much about volume I never thought about trying it. One day I wanted to experiment with it to see how a volume mascara would work for me and to my surprise I liked it. It creates a lot of volume because has small bristles on the wand that ensure every lash is covered. It doesn’t feel like anything is on your eyelashes. What I like best about these mascaras is that they don’t clump and feel soft like your natural eyelashes. The brush is perfect for distributing just enough product with each coat.

Tip: Layer this one with L’Oreal Telescopic they work very well together. The telescopic adds lots length and the Covergirl Lash Blast separates every lash and adds volume. The Green Covergirl Lash Blast fusion (not pictured) also pairs well with L’Oreal Telescopic.

Maybelline Lash Sensational (Pink- Washable /Black -Waterproof)

This is a mascara I tried for the first time last year.  I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I like the fanned out affect that it gives. I’ve tried the regular version and the water proof. I prefer the regular non waterproof version. Though they are both the same. I just prefer one that is easy to wash off at the end of the day. Like Covergirl last blast volume, it has tiny bristles that are close together so that every lash is coated.

Loreal Voluminous Original (Black Tube Gold Top)

This is a classic mascara that I enjoy using. It lives up to its name and creates good volume and separation.
