I recently made my first ever Nars purchase. Its the famous Nars blush in Orgasm. Did you know its been around since 1999?
It’s news to me lol
In 2021 it was re-released as a Nars Orgasm collection. I’d been eyeing the blush for a while and reading reviews on it. But I couldn’t convince myself to spend 34 dollars on a blush I wasn’t sure I’d like and have to return. I’m always looking for dupes of higher end products and in my search I came across one at a reasonable price for my “penny pinching preferences” lol. And that is the much cheaper 3 dollar Wet n wild Pearlescent Pink. It is one of the shades of the Color Icon Blush line.
It’s claims from the website are…..
- Soft focus effect
- Long-lasting,
- buildable color
- enriched formulas Infused with Jojoba Oil for a silky, smooth texture
It is light to medium coral pink shade with gold shimmer throughout it. It’s darker than the current shade of Nars orgasm but still not a very deep pink. It is a soft color and is buildable and long lasting. Its a 4 out of 5 for me. And I’ve owned this one for a while before I gave in to my curiosity and bought Nars Orgasm. I still wasn’t willing to buy the full size so I settled for a mini Nars Orgasm from Ulta for 17 dollars.

Nars took a lot of layers before the color even showed up. Its earlier color seemed to be darker pink/coral but the newest color of it now that its part of a collection is a very light unsaturated pink. With the new variations the shade being added the the original orgasm seems like it was lightened. Nars blush claims are….
- Lasts for up to 16 hours with a comfortable, weightless feel
- Pure Pigment Blend delivers high-impact, true-color payoff
- Irresistibly silky, blendable formula glides on smoothly and evenly
- Blurs imperfections
- Comfortable, weightless feel
It comes off as a very pretty soft warm pink on lighter skin tones. But if you’re of a darker complexion there really isn’t any color pay off . It will probably be more like a gold glittery highlighter which isn’t a bad look. And on a positive note I’d say if you like wearing highlighter it’ll work well as one but there are cheaper alternatives. Wet n wild shows up a bit more saturated in color and I find that the pink color shows up a bit better against brown skin. The Nars blush might as well be translucent with how much it needs to be built up before it shows up on the skin. They are very different in color pay off and about the same in wear time. You will have to reapply or refresh at some point as neither last a full 8 hours and is almost invisible at that point. But if you’re cheap most of the time like me I’d go with the Wet n Wild. You’ll get a better result for one tenth of the price of the Nars.
Until Next Time,
Amber ❤
